Flatto81 joined the 3rd edition of Tanabata-kai “Star Festival” in Amsterdam, organized by Kyoko KInder Kunst KlasThis year, Roppongi shop from last year participated in the event as well as new collaborators, Wonder-Kids and Yukinohana.
We hosted "Origami mobile Workshop" and "Big Milky Way Workshop" using recycled materials. For Origami mobile, we made original origami by using beet juice and printmaking technique.  Cutting lines were printed already on our Origami, so it was easier for children to make the lantern ornament.
For Hishigata (diamond-shaped) ornament, we recycled the drawing made by the children who participated in the Tanabatakai last year.  Tanzaku and Fukinagashi was decorated with Atelier Chika Ito's handmade vegetable ink using vegetables as stamps.
The Big Milky Way was made with recycled cardboards, connected together to form 5m60cm long and  max 80cm high milky way.  We decorated them with our triangle star stickers made from recycled papers, and Hikoboshi and Orihime met when we build the cardboards into a star shape.
Takea a look at Tanabatakai in Amsterdam Facebook page or Kyoko KinderKunstKlas website for more details and photos. We are very happy to share the beautiful tanabata-kai event with children from different parts of the world in the Netherlands.
Thank you so much to Kyoko, all collaborators and participants!

Atelier Chika Ito
